The votes are in and we have now ordered our tickets for "Phantom of the Opera" when we go to New York! For those who don't know, Jon and I have started a tradition where we go on a mini-vacation (long weekend) once a year for our anniversary. We go without Dillon (mommy misses you boo-boo!) and try to target places we've never been before.
Last year, we went to the Poconos and stayed at a place called "Ceasars Palace Cove Haven Resort". It was interesting to say the least! Our room was equipped with a miniature swimming pool, champagne glass hot tub, sauna, massage table, and a round bed with mirrored ceilings and walls! Hello . . . did we just step into a 70's porno movie? The resort itself was a little outdated and it was a bit weird seeing so many old people grope each other in the middle of the day, but it was still a trip! The scenery over the lake was absolutely beautiful and the resort had so many on-site restaurants, recreational activities, and clubs that you never had to leave! All in all, it was one of our better trips (with the exception of all the airline drama, but that's a different story all together)!
So, even though we have been to New York twice already, we have decided to go again so that we can once more cheer on the greatest baseball team ever (Go Yankees!) before they tear the old stadium down. Also, we have pretty much exhausted all of New York with the exception of the Broadway play - which I am SO excited about seeing! Our trip will be from Sept 17 through Sept 20. We are driving down, or up I guess I should say, to avoid all the crap you have to go through with the airlines these days. Besides, last time we went up that way, we literally could have driven up and halfway back by the time it took to get us home on the plane! What a mess!
Anyway, if you know of any GREAT places to eat in New York, please let us know! We would like to have a nice dinner before our Broadway show. Also, we are always looking for suggestions for our next mini-vacation! Let us know if you have one!

Sardis is cool b/c they have the caricatures from The Muppets Take Manhattan. It is very close to all broadway theaters. But don't order the shrimp.....
Peanut Butter and Company is a small (but crowded) sandwich shop that sells all different kinds of pb samiches.
There's a movie theater in Time Square that has a little cafe that overlooks outside...nice place for dessert or a snack.
Seek out local pizza restaurants/bagel shops for cheap pizza lunches and bagel breakfasts...they can be great bargains and very yummy.
The whole foods grocery store in Manhattan is like 4 stories and has a lunch bar where you can mix/match all different types of food.
I'll be back when I think of more....
